Preschool Teacher for 2022- 2023 School Year
The Garrett Park Nursery School (GPNS) is seeking an energetic and creative preschool teacher
to join our teaching team in the two’s AM classrooms. This is a part-time position
with 3-hour days (8:45am-12:00pm), a 2 day a week schedule, and a 9
month school year. Expected start date is August 2022.
GPNS is a state approved, parent co-operative preschool with 60+ years of experience in community-engaged educational practices. Located in the heart of Garrett Park, MD, and offering high quality, play-based education for two, three, and four year-olds, as well as an extended day program. Programs are focused on the total development of each child through attention to their emotional, social, cognitive, physical and creative needs.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The teacher is responsible for creating an environment conducive to play-based exploration and
learning as well as the planning and implementation of group activities such as reading, art, and
music. Teachers are responsible for developing and leading their curriculum with the support of
parent assistants. Teachers are responsible for monthly class and board meetings, yearly
parent teacher conferences, and collaborating with parents in the operation of the school.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA or BS in Early Childhood Education or a Four-Year Degree and the 90-Hour ECE or CDA required.
- 2-3 years’ experience in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Must be able to meet all OCC requirements.

Preschool Teacher – Special Programs
The Garrett Park Nursery School (GPNS) is seeking an energetic and creative preschool teacher to join our teaching team and lead our Extended Day Program. This is a part-time position. The Extended Day program runs from 11:45am-1:15pm daily, depending on enrollment
