2's Class Teachers
Emily Silverman
2's Class Teacher
Emily is the 2’s Class Teacher, Extended Day Teacher, Summer Programs Lead Teacher, and Licensing Administrator. She has been with GPNS since 2011 when she began co-oping, subbing, and serving as the Assistant Teacher for summer programs. Previously, Emily was, also, a short and long-term substitute for Montgomery County Public Schools.
Emily’s parents are both retired teachers, and she always knew she would become a teacher one day too. Her children are also GPNS alumni. Teaching at Garrett Park Nursery School isn’t just a job for her, it is a passion. Since both of her children graduated from the school, it is a place that holds wonderful memories that she’d like to duplicate for others.
As the 2’s Class Teacher, Emily helps children work through separation anxiety, learn about sharing, explore new environments, and develop friendships. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Hood College, and the 90-hour certification for Lead Teacher in Child Care
