4's Class
The focus of our 4's class, better known as the Explorers, is on active, meaningful learning through play. We believe that learning by doing instills self-confidence, a love for learning and can lead to successful academic learning. Our classroom environment and materials promote self-exploration and self-discovery with adult guidance and support.
All classroom materials are easily accessible and the children are given a large amount of time to become deeply involved in their play indoors and outdoors. The children are introduced to units of study such as: dinosaurs, reptiles, mammals, and the human body. Related art projects, games and materials give the children a hands-on approach to
learning about these topics. An emphasis is placed on language-related activities, games and puzzles. They also enjoy daily story time and show-and-tell. The 4's teacher and parents continue to foster self-help and social skills.
