3's Class: The Wonderers
The focus of the Wonderers program is on child-initiated play, allowing the children to follow their natural inclination to learn while promoting growth in all developmental areas. The two Wonderers teachers facilitate learning by designing daily activities and projects that are interesting, meaningful and, of course, fun for the children. Our learning-centers are designed to facilitate the introduction of age-appropriate science, math, social studies and logical thinking concepts.
Language and literacy development is encouraged through books, story time, rhymes, poems, fingerplays and music. This is an important year for social and emotional competence and the classroom setting provides many opportunities for social/emotional growth. We encourage the children to respect the rights of others and help them develop skills to resolve conflicts with others and to follow directions and routines.
