Crafters

Dear Crafter:

The Garrett Park Nursery School (GPNS) is pleased to invite you to participate in our 43rd Annual Craft Fair to be held November 20-22, 2009 at the Garrett Park, MD Town Hall.   GPNS is a parent-run cooperative school for 2, 3, and 4- year old children. Our annual fundraising craft fair is attended by over 1000 people within the community. 

On Friday, Nov. 20th at 7pm we are hosting a Preview Party during which GPNS parents, alumni, staff and friends will be able to purchase crafts in advance of the general public.  Of course, crafters are invited to this event as well. We will also hold a silent auction of donated items during the preview party.  Please indicate on your registration form if you would like to donate something for the silent auction.  Your donation would be very much appreciated and fully tax deductible.  The Craft Fair will be open to the general public from 10am to 5pm on Saturday AND Sunday, Nov. 21st and 22nd.

As always, this is a “drop fair.” Your presence is welcome, but not required during sale hours. You may set up on Friday, Nov. 20th from 1 to 5 pm. At that time, please give us a copy of your complete inventory, keeping another copy for your records.  Your care in following the “Inventory Guidelines” allows us to correctly calculate total sales at the end of the event.

During the fair, GPNS parents will assist customers, restock tables, and collect all money and taxes for you.  While we are vigilant about preventing theft and damage to exhibitors’ merchandise during the fair, GPNS may not be held liable for stolen or damaged items.  Fortunately, this has not been a serious problem in previous GPNS craft fairs.

GPNS assumes a 25% commission on all sales.  Exhibitors do not need a tax number to participate.  We will accept MasterCard and Visa payments, in addition to cash and personal checks.  GPNS will provide display tables, but please bring your own tablecloths to ensure an attractive display and to hide inventory stored underneath.  Break down will be from 5-6:30pm on Sunday, November 22nd.

We are excited to make this year’s craft fair the best ever.   Please fill out your registration form and return it along with a $15.00 table fee by September 20, 2008.  I will confirm your table reservation by September 30th.  Please note that we are not accepting requests for second tables, except in the rare cases of crafters who have routinely grossed over one thousand dollars at previous fairs.
