Garrett Park Nursery School

We will begin accepting applications for the 2012 - 2013 school year on October 1st for all children who will be 2, 3 or 4 by September 1, 2012.

We have begun the 2011-2012 school year at our temporary location at Ken-Gar Palisades Park due to our renovations and the modernization of the adjacent Garrett Park Elementary School. We expect to return to our original (and newly renovated) location by Winter Break. Our hours for the 2012-2013 school year will be:

2's Class: Tuesday and Thursday 9:00am-11:30am

3's Class: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00am-11:30am

4's Class: Monday through Friday 9:00am-11:30am

Extended Day: Up to 5 days per week, 11:30am – 1:00pm

If you would like to visit the school, contact us via phone at 301-933-5254 or email at membershipgpns@yahoo.com and we will make arrangements for you to meet with a current member who can answer questions, introduce you to the appropriate teacher, and give you a tour of the school. You may stay to observe the class. Please note that we find, for a number of reasons, that your visit will be the most beneficial to you and your child if you do not bring children with you for this visit.

After you have completed and returned an application form and the $40.00 non-refundable application fee, your child's name will be placed on the age-appropriate waiting list in the order in which it was received. The lists are retained and carried over each year for the next higher class without re-application.  There is a $25 fee to carry your child’s name over to the next year’s list, but this fee is credited toward your deposit at the time of enrollment

Please Note:  To receive priority status, applications for siblings of current students, siblings of alumni, children of alumni and residents of the town of Garrett Park must be submitted by January 15th of the school year prior to enrollment. In February, class lists are compiled and all spaces are filled in the order stated in our admission policy which is enclosed with the application. As vacancies occur, classes are filled from the waiting lists.
